Simple tips to help you stay in Thailand with less stress

Getting a visa for Thailand can feel confusing at first. But with the right steps, you can avoid problems. Whether you're new to Thailand or planning to stay longer, here are a few tips to make things easier.

📍 Choose the right visa
If you want to stay long-term, an Education (ED) visa is one of the easiest ways to stay in Thailand. This visa lets you study Thai or English while living here legally. Other visas—like tourist or volunteer visas—have shorter time limits or harder rules.

📍 Get help from a good school
Some schools don’t guide students at all. They only give you papers and leave you to figure out the rest. At Wave, we help with the full visa process—paperwork, immigration visits, and school letters. That makes it much easier for students.

📍 Follow the rules carefully
You must report to immigration every 90 days. You must also attend class and follow visa rules. It’s important to follow Thai etiquette, be polite, and stay calm with officials. This helps things go smoothly.

✈️ Plan early and don’t overstay
Start the visa process at least one month before your current visa ends. If you overstay—even by one day—you can get fined or banned from re-entering. Keep track of your passport stamps and set reminders for appointments.

Learning Thai helps with daily life and also shows respect to locals. It can even help during immigration interviews. With the right support, the visa process doesn’t have to be hard.
