Living and studying in Bangkok is exciting, but sometimes you need a break from the busy city. The good news? There are many great places just a few hours away. Here are some easy weekend trips perfect for students on an ED visa.

1. Ayutthaya – History and Temples
Only 1.5 hours from Bangkok by train or van, Ayutthaya is full of old temples and quiet streets. You can rent a bicycle and explore ruins like Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. It’s peaceful and perfect for a day or overnight trip.

2. Pattaya – Beach and City Life
Pattaya is about 2 hours away by bus. It has beaches, night markets, and fun cafes. You can relax by the sea or visit places like Nong Nooch Garden or the Sanctuary of Truth. It’s busy, but much smaller than Bangkok.

3. Kanchanaburi – Nature and History
This quiet town is 3 hours from Bangkok by train or van. Visit the Bridge on the River Kwai, Erawan Waterfall, and peaceful mountains. It’s a great place to walk, swim, and learn about Thailand’s past.

Hua Hin is a calm beach town 3–4 hours away. It has seafood, night markets, and soft sand. You can also visit temples or go hiking nearby. A good place to slow down for the weekend.
